bronze age kit..

Postby the_power on Mon Jul 28, 2008 7:03 pm

So, without a clue, I hacked up some spare wool & made up some bronze age kit.

Any opinions ? Not, there are no 'accessories'. Any ideas what I'm likely to need ? For the moment, I'm going for craftsman status, Irish if possible (as in, not greek). Alas, I've feck all idea what we know about people here 1000BC..

Is that a good or a bad thing ? The mantle has a hem on the bottom, to make it hang well. I've just whipped the edges of the straps to stop them fraying, and was going to whip the rest once I know if it's authentic or not...never having seen any bronze age stuff, I can only guess...

Whip away boyo.

Unless it's a selvedge, BA edges were hemmed, right enough.
They were neat enough clothes, despite being weird shapes.

Will do, as soon as I get the second rawhide clump sole onto my pampooties. Unauthentic I know, but so are gravel or tarmac footpaths...

Me too.

[EDIT]

Looks good. It makes me want to make a Bronze Age kit.

Hat and pouch, if you're looking for something to do.
