Event promotion

While we are happy for you to use this forum to organize and promote your events, there are one or two things that must be made clear.

People are free to organize gigs on any day they like, while it is best to have events on different days, that is not always possible. The forum will not tolerate posts denigrating an event on the basis of a clash of dates, or indeed for any other reason. Take care of your own, and let others do the same. Avoid over hyping (best gig ever, best gig of its kind, and never, our gig is better than yours).

The promoting of rival events in thread dedicated to another event will also be frowned upon.

A point to note: we are currently running about 20:1 as a ratio of useful research/history posts to throwaway chit chat about events coming up & just past. These will be deleted promptly to avoid the board looking like Bebo.
